Many of us are unable to differentiate between Liquid Injection and lyophilized Injection. But both of them have many differences mentioned below:

  • In case of liquid injection, handling and processing time is less but in lyophilized injection, handling and processing time is more.
  • Liquid injections are manufactured in liquid state where as lyophilized injections are in solid state.
  • In case of lyophilized injection, extra sterile diluent required for reconstitution, whereas it is not required in liquid injection.
  • Equipments used in manufacturing of lyophilized injection are costlier as compared to equipments used in manufacturing of liquid injection.
  • Manufacturing procedure of lyophilized injections are more complex as compared to liquid injections.
  • Lyophilized injections are more stable and have better shelf life as compared to liquid injections because product stability enhanced in dry state.

In modern era, demand for lyophilized injections are much more in comparison of liquid injection, there are many pharmaceutical manufacturer involved in lyophilized injection manufacturing in India. From the best of my knowledge Affy group is one of very famous organization who has both the facilities of manufacturing liquid injection and lyophilized injection.
